| In a professional basketball career,
what you do on the court is only half of the puzzle.
You have to chase every
opportunity like you would chase down a loose ball

Basketball has had me travel around most of the
USA and Europe. After 3 years playing professionally in
France, I have come to understand how things work , and I feel
in a good position to share my experience, my opinions and give
some advice. |

Against UNC 2002 |
After growing up
in England, I went to the states aged 18 and played college
ball at Davidson in North Carolina. It was a great
experience, and after one year playing professionally I
bought a house close to Davidson where I spend my summers
and where I will live after retiring from the game.
Since college
I've been with one team playing in the French first division
for three years. I've worked with agents, negotiated
my own contract, spent few months injured, and had surgery
in France. |
|
I've been to an
exposure camp in Italy and another camp, plus a try out in
Greece. I've played with the English national team in
England, Russia and Slovenia.

France 2004 |
As a senior in
college I made up my mind to play professionally, but I did
not want to just sit back and trust everything to an agent.
I went
through all the game tapes and collected a series of
highlights on VHS.
Being a part time
computer geek, I played around with the highlights, putting
them on a DVD and then online. I signed with an agent
and he used the work I had done, and found me a good job
playing in the French first division.
Playing ball
professionally leaves a lot of spare time, and so last year
I launched this website to give other players the chance to
have the same technology working for them that I had working
for me. |
| Through the site I've been asked a lot of
questions about playing ball in Europe and I'm always happy
to answer them.
It's a subject that's not very well understood by people
who have not been here, so I have added this information
section to my site to share my observations, my opinions and
my advice. I hope you find it helpful. Don't
hesitate to email me with any questions. |
