Marcus Melvin is a monster who consistently and savagely terrorizes opposing
teams. He shoots the three exceptionally well, drives the
ball exceptionally well, pulls up at mid range exceptionally well,
runs the floor exceptionally well
and scores in the post exceptionally well. A 6'8" basketball
player who does everything as well as he does really cannot be
stopped.
It's not just offense. Melvin rebounds the ball
ferociously; aggressively
cleaning up any misses on either end of the court and he takes
a real competitive pride in his defense. This defense,
combined with the punishing task of trying to stop Melvin at the
offensive end, usually renders the opposing four-man a non factor.
There is a reason that Melvin has begun the 2005/2006 season in
Italy
averaging more than 20 points and more than 12 rebounds after eight
games despite being the primary focus of every opposing defense:
he is really really...... really good. Believe that!
